Integrated Management Systems Training

Gain a strong foundation in Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and how the core standards – ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2026, and ISO 45001:2018 – work together to support organisational efficiency, risk management, and continual improvement.

You will learn:

• The structure and requirements of an IMS in alignment with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2026, and ISO 45001:2018
• Risk-based thinking and its application to modern management systems
• The process approach and its benefits to business
• How to integrate the customer into organisational processes
• Life-cycle assessment and its implications for environmental aspects
• Effective and timely hazard identification, risk assessment, and control processes.

This course is divided into flexible modules, enabling participants to attend all modules in the same week or spread across different sessions. The modules cover Quality, Environmental, and OH&S management system requirements, respectively. These can be joined to an additional 2-day module: Becoming a Skilled Lead Internal/External Auditor, where you will learn how to conduct management systems audits in accordance with ISO 19011:2018 Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems. Day 1 – Wednesday 

Quality management systems

• Introduction to management systems and standards
• Scope of quality, environmental and OH&S management systems within an organisation
• Understanding organisational context and leadership
• Operational control and requirements
• Process approach and risk- based thinking
• Evidence requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

Day 2 – Thursday

Environmental & OH&S management systems

• Understanding environmental aspects and impacts
• Life cycle approach
• Evidence requirements of ISO 14001:2026
• Organisational hazards, risks and controls
• Consultation and participation of workers in OH&S
• Evidence requirements of ISO 45001:2018.

Day 3 – Friday

Application of quality, environmental, and OH&S management systems

• Review of IMS requirements
• IMS audit scenarios and the application of quality, environmental and OH&S management systems standards
• Course review.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Attainment with 3 Exemplar Global competencies:

• Exemplar Global QM
• Exemplar Global EM
• Exemplar Global OH 45001

If you also complete our Becoming a Skilled Lead Internal/External Auditor course, you may also be eligible to complete the BSBSS00128 Lead Auditor Skill Set to attain four Nationally Recognised Training Units of Competency.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

You will complete a series of workshops during the course, which form part of the assessment. Upon the completion of each module there is a short multiple-choice quiz. You will receive continual assistance and feedback from the facilitator.

You should attend if you:

• Want to become an internal quality, environmental, OH&S, or IMS auditor
• Need to develop or improve an integrated management system
• Are involved in quality, environmental, OH&S, or IMS processes
• Are a manager responsible for your organisation’s IMS or auditing practices
• Wish to consolidate existing knowledge into a formal qualification

A business background is preferred, but prior experience in auditing or management systems is not essential.

To become a registered third-party auditor under the Exemplar Global scheme, you’ll need this course plus the units of competency awarded in our Becoming a Skilled Lead Internal/External Auditor course – Exemplar Global AU26 – Auditing management systems and Exemplar Global TL26 – Lead audit teams.
