FAQs

What is ISO 9001?

ISO 9001 is a globally recognised benchmark for quality management systems. It sets out how organisations can consistently provide products and services that meet both customer expectations and regulatory requirements, while also striving for continual improvement.

What is the main purpose of ISO 9001?

Its main purpose is to establish a structured, reliable approach to managing quality across every area of an organisation.

How does ISO 9001 put customers at the centre?

The standard encourages organisations to understand what customers need, deliver on those expectations, and build lasting relationships through trust and reliability.

What is meant by the process approach?

Rather than managing activities in isolation, ISO 9001 promotes treating them as connected processes. This approach improves coordination, reduces waste, and boosts performance.

What does continual improvement involve?

It’s about using data, performance reviews, and corrective actions to make ongoing enhancements—so processes and outcomes keep getting better over time.

What role does risk-based thinking play?

ISO 9001 asks organisations to anticipate potential issues that could affect quality and put proactive measures in place to prevent them.

How can an organisation become ISO 9001 certified?

Certification is achieved by undergoing an independent audit that verifies the organisation meets all the requirements outlined in the standard.

What advantages does ISO 9001 certification bring?

  • Greater customer confidence – Delivering on promises builds loyalty.

  • Streamlined operations – Well-defined processes cut down on errors and delays.

  • Stronger reputation – Certification shows a clear commitment to quality.

  • Competitive edge – Can set you apart in crowded markets.

  • More opportunities – Some contracts and industries require ISO 9001.

Why should an organisation consider ISO 9001?

It provides a proven framework to improve how work is done, strengthen customer satisfaction, and open the door to new business prospects.

How ISO 9001 Works

ISO 9001 follows a structured framework to ensure quality at every stage:

  •         Plan – Set clear objectives and define processes
  •         Do – Implement systems to meet quality requirements
  •         Check – Monitor performance and identify improvements
  •         Act – Make data-driven changes to enhance operations

By following this approach, businesses can strengthen credibility, improve service delivery, manage risks, and ultimately enhance customer satisfaction.

What career prospects are there in the quality management industry?

ISO 9001 applies to organisations of all sizes and industries as the standard focuses on key areas such as leadership, customer satisfaction, risk management, process management, and performance evaluation.

A quality management systems course may help you get a foothold in the quality management industry and may provide a pathway to becoming a registered third-party auditor under the Exemplar Global scheme.

Does this course cover other quality management systems, or just ISO 9001?

This training course focuses on ISO 9001:2015, as it is the benchmark in international standards for quality management. With over one million organisations across the globe certified to ISO 9001, it’s also considered to be the most common QMS framework.

What our students say about our courses

“The virtual classroom coupled with an enthusiastic trainer made the course easy to run through and as good as any face-to-face courses I have ever attended.”

“Honestly thought it was gonna be boring. I was very wrong! Very engaging and informative. Loved all 5 days and will be back for more courses!”

“Let’s be honest – ISO standards aren’t exactly edge-of-your-seat material. But this course proved that with the right coach, even clauses and compliance can be compelling! Packed with real-world examples, well-paced sessions, and just the right amount of workshops, it was surprisingly enjoyable. Highly recommended!”

“It was clearly evident that the lead auditor trainer had significant industry-related experience in auditing. He was able to keep the class fully engaged with personal interaction and reinforce learnings. Getting full copies of the standards was amazing, the catering and the training location in Brisbane was perfect.”

“The trainer’s experience and real-life examples gave great context to the course material. The 5 days allowed the material to be digested in a way that was not overwhelming. I’d definitely recommend the course to others.”
