About the course

Learn the principles and application of HACCP with this 2-day HACCP course. Get the skills and knowledge to develop a hazard analysis critical control (HACCP) based food safety plan and to oversee its implementation and monitoring.

Our course will help you to understand the Principles of Codex HACCP and how you can use them to develop a HACCP plan which will identify, evaluate and control food safety hazards within your organisation. Our food safety training experts will guide you through the requirements of HACCP in full so you can implement a system that demonstrates your commitment to food safety and manages your risks effectively. You will also learn about applicable Food Safety Legislation, Pre-requisite Program, the Ethics of Food Safety and how to best apply them for the benefit of an organisation.This course also meets the formal HACCP training requirements of Australian Retailers, GFSI Standards (BRC, SQF) and other relevant Standards.

Course content

This 2-day course will leave you with knowledge of the principles and application of HACCP. It can be joined to an additional module: ‘Becoming a Skilled Lead Internal/External Auditor‘ where participants learn how to conduct management systems audits in accordance with ISO 19011:2018 Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems. Qualification

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Attainment which identifies the Exemplar Global competency below:

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Assessment

Throughout the course, you will complete a series of workshops which form part of the assessment. A short multiple-choice exam at the completion of each module assesses the knowledge and understanding gained throughout the training. You will receive continual assistance and feedback from the trainer and are given anecdotal examples of real world audit situations.

No homework or take-home assessment. 

Who should attend

Designed to cater to a variety of people currently involved in the development and / or management of Food Safety Programs, you should attend if you:

  • want to meet the formal HACCP training requirements of Australian Retails, GFSI Standards (BRC, SQF) and other relevant Standards. 
  • want to become an Exemplar Global HACCP Practitioner
  • need to write and implement a HACCP Plan
  • are involved in the Food Safety management process
  • wish to activity participate in a HACCP Team
  • wish to consolidate your existing knowledge into a formal qualification

A food safety industry background is preferred, however prior experience in Food Safety is not essential.

Study Pathway – Where to from here?

If you wish to become a registered third-party, or external HACCP Practitioner with Exemplar Global, you need to have obtained the competency units from this course and the additional Exemplar Global competency units of AU and TL (via our Becoming a Skilled Lead Auditor or Management Systems Lead Auditor courses).
